Train operators Portsmouth
Portsmouth has strong rail links with London, Southampton and both the south east and south west coastal routes. It has four train stations (see links below) all of which are on the mainline to London Waterloo.
Direct services depart for London from Portsmouth at least every 30 minutes and take as little as an hour and a half. There are also direct services from Portsmouth stations to Brighton, Winchester, Bristol, Salisbury and Cardiff Central, with indirect services connecting to the Midlands and the North of England.
Portsmouth and Southsea station is just a two minute walk from city centre shops and business, the Guildhall and the council’s Civic Offices.
Portsmouth Harbour station is a short walk from a range of attractions, including the shops and restaurants at Gunwharf Quays, Spinnaker Tower, and the Historic Dockyard. Portsmouth Harbour station is also close to the ferry connections to the Isle of Wight and Gosport.
Hilsea station serves the north side of Portsea Island.
Fratton station is close to Portsmouth's Football ground - Fratton Park - and within easy reach of thousands of homes and businesses in Southsea and Fratton.

South Western Railway
Regular, direct services to London Waterloo, Winchester, Basingstoke, Southampton and Brighton.
Southern Trains
Regular, direct services along the south coast to Brighton. Other destinations along this route include Cosham, Havant, Chichester, Worthing and Hove.
Great Western Railway
The hourly service to Cardiff also stops at Southampton, Salisbury, Bath and Bristol.
